Hi, I’m Alyson.

Or Aly, depending on how we met.

I’m an Art Director and Copywriter living on Lenape land in NYC with my poodle, Alma. I currently work for the independent design brand, Areaware.

I came of age in the early days of the internet. The web was fresh and fascniating — it was a space where I could obessively explore all the things I loved to do: write, design, illustrate, take photos, and problem solve (to customize my Livejournal, I dabbled in a little bit of coding). That time of self-teaching became the foundation of everything I do today. This portfolio is designed as a nod to that time and the purity of the internet then — a little bit of digital nostalgia.

Today, I do all of the same things I did as a 17 year old on my parents’ dial-up desktop computer. Only now, I have years of experience. Playing with words and imagery to create worlds that people want to be a part of is what I know and love. With a deep understanding of a brand's unique point of view and its inherent personality, I refine its voice——both visually and verbally——to stand out in a crowded space while staying true to brand strategy and objectives.
